Let’s talk about facing challenges. These challenges are really going to be about creating change in our organization and identifying the things that are impacting our abilities to grow.
First up, the Boulder Breakdown. As we indicated in the professional builder, you have Boulders (challenges)that you are facing. This page is going to further expand on those boulders to help you develop a plan so you can move forward.
Start by identifying the Boulder and how it is impacting results. Include previous attempts made to break down that Boulder and what the long-term risk is if you do not address the Boulder. One of the biggest things I want you to take away from the Boulder Breakdown is: The power of motivation to achieve something can directly be tied to your risk of not achieving it.
By indicating what this risk is, we’ll understand the importance of why we need to address this Boulder. The risk assessment area will help you identify which Boulders in your organization or in your own life you need to address first. Sometimes we can’t move forward on one thing until we address something else over here and this risk assessment will help you identify that.
Next, identify whom does this concern and whom does it affect. In many cases, whom it concerns and whom it affects are not the same. It’s important to identify these because each person or group is looking at this Boulder from a different point of view. If you can identify who has concerns and how it affects them, you have better capability of bringing those individuals together to find a solution.
From there, identify what you can start doing – what things do you notice – how can you develop – how can you help – how can you improve and really have a discussion about this Boulder and how it’s affecting the business. This will help give you gravity on how to address it.
As we move to the right side of the Boulder Breakdown page, you’ll start actually addressing the boulder by brainstorming and planning. Identify your role in facing the Boulder and write an action plan.
Lastly, identify what success means for you or your organization if you overcome this challenge.
