Google is expected to announce its competitor to the Samsung Z Fold 4 next month with the Google Pixel Fold. This would be amazing news for digital planning! Digital planning on a foldable phone is a great experience.
The foldable smartphone will cost upward of $1,700, according to CNBC, and is Google’s first attempt at a foldable phone.
The company states that the Google Pixel Fold will offer “the most durable hinge on a foldable” phone and be marketed as “water-resistant” and “pocket-sized” with an outside screen measuring 5.8 inches across.
According to CNBC, the phone will open like a book to reveal a small tablet-sized 7.6-inch screen, the same size as the display on Samsung’s competitor. It will be powered by Google’s Tensor G2 chip and weigh 10oz. This is slightly heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, but it has a larger battery that Google says will last for 24 hours, or up to 72 hours in a low power mode.
The rumored reveal date for the device is May 10, with the product made available on June 27.
